Got a lot done at work today, but still struggling with a few tasks that I can't understand.  I'm in the process of hunting down some answers.

It was a hot day again today - when I went out for a walk at lunch time, it was scorching.  It would've been a nice day to go floating on the Bow or Elbow.  After work, it was over 30 degrees when I got into my car.  I went home and did some re-organizing of my clothes.  I realize I need more hangers.  Have you ever heard of Jane's Addiction?  Well the picture below is actually my Jeans Addiction.  Yep... those are all my jeans (and there may be more in the laundry hamper, too)!  I realize I may have a problem.  Is there a support group for that, do you think?

I probably should've gone somewhere since it was so nice outside, but truly I'm exhausted.  I had a short nap (while a kid ran and stomped around upstairs), then talked to Lurline on the phone.  She and Dave just got back from a short staycation at Pigeon Lake.  Apparently she was very ill with some kind of bug.  That sucks when you're supposed to be enjoying a summer holiday!

I also sent another email to my landlord stating that I'm now going to give notice on September 1st - with a litany of reasons why he'd better accept it and give my damage deposit back and let me break my lease.  I'm awaiting his reply.

I'm watching "Friends With Benefits" online before I go to sleep.  Wow!  It's quite risque at times.

So that's it.  Now that I'm all alone to do the job, I guess I gotta sink or swim.  I'm supposedly going to Edmonton this Friday and Saturday for a big baseball game between Calgary and Edmonton, where we are promoting the Tomorrow Project.  I'll be staying at a hotel downtown, so that part is okay.  There is supposed to be this big flash mob that we are putting together at the game, but there is still a chance we may not have enough participants, so if you know anybody in Edmonton who wants a free ticket to a baseball game, a free t-shirt and likes to dance in big groups, then let me know!

I did a bit of grocery shopping after work.  I can't really afford to be eating out these days, since I have to pay for a move in a couple of weeks.  Now I'm just surfing the net and I might watch a movie online before I go to bed.  I probably should head out for a walk because it's such a gorgeous evening, but I'm exhausted and can't drag myself out.  I think I just need to catch up on some sleep or something.

I took this picture this morning in my living room ... the sun was rising and it was streaming through the blinds and looked so beautiful, that I had to take a picture.

I've only got one more day with the person who's training me.  She goes on maternity leave after tomorrow.  I've got my hands full, that's for sure ... but I guess whatever happens, happens.  I can only do my best, right?

It was a long day at work today because I went in early and left late.  By the time I got home, I was pretty hungry, so I cooked some dinner and chilled out.  I played around with my camera for a while, and took some self-shots as I was experimenting with some different settings ... this is one of them.

I finished reading "Water for Elephants", but there was a lot of noise upstairs, so I did have to re-read a few paragraphs to keep my concentration.  Other than that, there really isn't much to report about today.

Back to work!  I worked a little later today because my shift is 11:00am to 7:30pm on Mondays.  It was a little difficult to keep my energy up after about 5pm.  My concentration started to drift, but I'm sure I'll get used to it over time.
Nothing really exciting happened today.  I didn't go anywhere other than to work, then home again, so I didn't have a chance to take a photo.  So, I decided to take a self-shot while I was surfing the net in my temporary room.  It's not much, but at least I can say I took a photo today.

I woke up this morning with some kind of weird eye infection that Lurline seems to think is a clogged tear duct. It's my first day working for the Tomorrow Project Cancer Research Study, and I have to show up with some kind of health issue - brilliant!  So anyway, I got ready, and made myself a great lunch.   I showed up at around 8:15 am and met with Olga, who is the superstar I'll be replacing.  She really knows her stuff, and I was feeling a little overwhelmed with how much there is to wrap my head around.  She's very organized, so we started to methodically go through all the different aspects of the position.  It seems a lot more administrative than my previous work, but thankfully it looks like nothing will be too far removed from what I'm used to.

At about 3pm I headed up to Peter Lougheed hospital to try to get my ID badge and parking pass, but when I got there, the woman who does them wasn't in ... so I headed back downtown to scour the desirable neighbourhoods for a place to live.  There was an open house to view an apartment near 17th Ave, and when I got there, there were about 8 other people there to view it, too.  The rep said that he had had about 80 calls from people looking for a place to rent.  When I actually saw the place, it was about 500 square feet and the building was very run down.  I decided that somebody else could have it.  It wasn't right for me.

I have an appointment to view another place in Mission tomorrow.  I hope it works out better.

When I finally got "home", I realized that I hadn't taken a picture again.  So, here's a photo that represents what happens multiple times every day... dog in, cat out, cat in, dog out ... this is Willow and Soleil.  The fat one, Pumpkin doesn't get to go outside, because he's too dumb.  If you notice, Dave's been doing some work in the backyard to make it look nice.  It's really coming along.
