Happy Independence Day, America!
Said good-bye to the last of the party-goers this morning, as Lisa and Scott headed back to Vancouver.  Mom and I cleaned the two suites in case she gets a call for the B&B.  When dad got home, we all went outside and started taking down tables and moving stuff back where it belongs.  The weather was so warm and beautiful that it was nice to be outside.  In the evening, we all went in the hot tub until the mosquitoes started dive bombing us ... dad didn't seem too bothered, but mom and I weren't about to take them on.  The garden blooms in stages, so I took a walk around to see what was in bloom, and shot some nice photos in the rose garden.  I did some photo manipulation on this bloom:

What a day.  Woke up early to head to the U.S. with mom and Lurline.  We did some shopping, then met my Auntie Betty for lunch.  Then, we did more shopping.  The sun came out in the afternoon and it was a pretty good drive home.  We made it home midway through the first period of game seven of the Stanley Cup final.  Unfortunately, Boston won 4 to 0.  I settled in to watch So You Think You Can Dance, but within about 10 minutes, the show was interrupted because of riots that had broken out in downtown Vancouver.  It's an embarrassment to all of Canada, and particularly to Vancouver.  Any true fan wouldn't respond with destruction and violence, because it's disrespectful to their team.  Shameful!

This photo is of "Candy Tuft" which is growing in my parents' yard.  It's beautiful when it's in full bloom.
They are preparing their entire yard for the annual Garden Tour that will take place in June.  This is the first year their gardens have been on the itinerary, so they are working to make sure everything looks fantastic.  I'm sure more pics of their incredible yard will be posted in the future.
