Rain today.  It probably rained for a few hours.  It was good, since everything was starting to look pretty brown and dried out.  I went out to Okotoks for work today, and it was a nice and productive afternoon.  After work, I just made dinner and chilled out.  I downloaded the first season of "Game of Thrones" and so I watched episode one.  So far I like it.  

I have a date to call my bestie and chat on the phone.  We haven't had a chance to catch up and I feel like I need some Lisa time!  

I also found out that this moving company might be able to move my stuff from Vancouver to Calgary for $1050!  The first company quoted $2000, the second one quoted $14-1500, and now just over $1000!  Amazing!  That's definitely do-able!

The family that lives upstairs is already driving me crazy.  I couldn't stand the constant banging and jumping, so I finally went up to "discuss" the situation.  The father, who barely speaks English (he's Turkish), apologized for the noise, but told me that "Helen" is hyper and there's nothing they can do about it.  They don't want to use violence, but she doesn't listen to them.  The entire time we're talking about the noise, Helen and her younger brother are jumping and stomping on the ground ... and smiling at me.  The father says that they go to bed around 10:30 or 11 at the latest.  He kept saying that there's nothing he can do about the noise.  It didn't look like he was going to try, either.  Who puts their 2 and 4 year old to bed at 10:30pm or 11pm??!  What ever happened to kids in bed by 8pm??  SOMEBODY GONNA GET A HURT!  To be continued...

I saw the sunshine again, today ... wow!  Gotta enjoy every moment that you get a glimpse of the sunshine here on the West Coast.

I spent the morning getting some stuff done around the house, then went over to see my bestie at her Aunt's house downtown.  Lisa had a lot of relatives there, and they were busy with some cleaning and organizing, but we had barbecued hamburgers for lunch and, of course, great company.  I stayed for a couple of hours to visit, then headed home.  Lisa and I had a chance to catch up before I leave for Calgary this week.  I'll miss her so much!

Mom and Dad were at a barbecue most of the afternoon and early evening.  When they got home, we all had a relaxing evening at home.  Dad is off on his holidays, so we're going to the U.S. tomorrow to spend some money while our dollar is so high.

Spent most of the day in recovery mode.  I suffered some sun stroke at the party, and it hit me hard overnight, so ended up only getting an hour sleep.  So, I crashed on the sofa for a few hours and listened to the laughs and conversation going on in the kitchen - fading in and out of sleep.  It was great to hear the post-party chatter with the guests who had stayed the night.  The stories that they told were endlessly entertaining, and it was a sure sign that they all had a fantastic night.

Later in the evening, Lisa, Scott and I got some snacks and blankets and got comfortable in front of the TV to watch a couple of movies.  It was so perfect to just chill out and have a low key night with friends.  I crashed pretty early, but here's Lisa and Scott getting cozy on the sofa:

Woke to another sunshiny day - three days in a row!  Wow!  Headed out to Vancouver at about noon to meet up with Lisa.  We decided that we couldn't play tennis, since we only had one racket, so we went to have a beer (or two) at The Local on the patio.  We got a little sunburnt, despite wearing sunscreen.  Then, we headed to the Ward's house to catch game three of the playoffs.  What a disappointing game that was!  Boston wins 8-1 ... So, we thought we'd get one more quick drink at the Five Point to see what the mood was like.  There weren't a lot of people left in there, and there definitely wasn't celebration in the air.  This pic is of Lisa and I on the patio at The Local:

What a night of excitement ... drove out to Vancouver to meet up with Lisa before heading to the local Five Point pub to watch game 5 of the Canucks/Sharks series.  Brad, Iona and Cecilia all showed up, and the pub was on fire with energy as the Canucks tied it up with mere seconds left in the 3rd period.  Finally, into double overtime, Bieksa buries the puck from the blue line to take the win!  The pub erupted into cheers and suddenly everybody in the bar were our new best friends.  On to the Stanley Cup finals!
